Fiona and Captain Underpants

Fiona has grown up an awful lot this year and will be going to middle school this fall. That thought totally frightens me, but what can I do?

I think he's outgrown it.

Rowan still think he should be the baby, apparently. I'm pretty sure that swing is never going to be the same. Good thing we're not planning on having any more babies to put in it.

Killy got a new doo

Here's Killian with my favorite wig. I usually only wear it on Halloween, but sometimes to go to the store for ice cream... if it's a special occasion.

Finally an update

Here's Merrin and Killy hangin' out on the couch. I think Merrin was about 5 months old in this picture. She's doing really great and starting to think about crawling. The kids love her to death, even Rowan has taken a liking to her. He likes to try and make her smile or laugh.

1 month old baby Merrin.

She's definately a Grigg baby. Our genes must be pretty compatible because all of our babies have looked almost exactly the same. Fortunately they've been cute.

Welcome to our home.

Come on in. Hopefully I'll get some pictures up soon of the interior of the house. I'm kind of waiting until we get a little more organized and get some art up on the walls and such. So ever since we started building we've been wondering what to call our little piece of the world out here. After living on the acreage since September and enduring some pretty harsh winter weather, I came up with WindDrift Acres. What do you think? I'll probably get one of those little fake street signs for our driveway that says "WindDrift Lane" or something like that. But anyway, in case you hadn't guessed, the wind blows alot out here.

Snowy House Pics

Here is a shot of the house in it's completed and lived-in state. It's been a whirlwind of activity since we moved in on December 12th. Merrin was born just 6 days later, then 6 more days later it was Christmas Eve and we travelled to Othello, and Moses Lake for the holiday, then we came back home Christmas night. Two days later we left the older kids and went to the Tri-Cities with the Killian family for our annual temple trip and overnighter. 3 days later it was New Years Eve and we had some friends over for an impromptu NY Eve party. Then on the 6th I had to go down to Arizona for the annual CarMedic company meeting. Finally we're all just home and getting more comfortable every day in the new house. It's finally starting to feel like home.

Fight the power!

Merrin on her birthday. Showing her support for the solidarity and rise to power for babies everywhere.

Merrin Halsey Grigg

At 5:47 AM on Tuesday the 18th of December Merrin Halsey Grigg was born. LaNae was only in labor for about 3 hours and everything went very smoothly with the delivery. Merrin weighed in at 6 lbs 14 oz. and she was 20 inches long. She has a pretty good amount of blondish hair, a good amount for a Grigg baby anyway. Mom and baby came home from the hospital today at around 1:00. On a sidenote and with more photos to come later, we moved into the new house about a week ago. We still have a lot of unpacking to do but it's really nice to be here and have all the space that we need.

Getting closer

The exterior is almost complete. They finally started doing the stone-masonry around the front and the garage as you can see in this photo. Inside they have been laying tile in the bathrooms, laundry, and mud room. On Tuesday and Wednesday they will sand and finish the hardwood flooring. There's still an awful lot of little things that need to be done, but we're hoping to be in by the first week in December.

Shop is being built

Here is the garage side of the house and the 30x40 pole building that will be my dream shop when it's done. It took a long time to get it started but now it should move along pretty quickly. I can't wait to have a seperate shop for woodworking and such and a garage that is just for cars to live in. That's like a lifelong dream for me.

Hot back door pics

Here is a current photo of the back of the new house. All of the siding is pretty much done, the drywall is being taped and textured this week. Interior paint is scheduled for next week. Also the exterior doors should be delivered tomorrow and installed. They are gorgeous by the way. We're picking countertops and paint colors and all that stuff these days. I think we finally settled on the paint colors inside and out. That was a huge decision.

Finally an Update.

So I finally had a minute to take an updated photo. We've been crazy busy getting moved from our house on the northside. We got it sold and hopefully will have a big fat check in our hands any day now. We are getting situated in the little cottage on our property and hopefully will have ourselves organized soon. The house is coming along nicely and they should begin the drywalling process soon.

Windows goin' in.

So today they put in all the windows, and finished all of the plumbing. Tomorrow the roof shingles go on, and the HVAC gets installed. They are just working like crazy out there everyday. It's pretty fun to go out and see all the busy little bees working away.

What you are looking at inside of those trusses is our future home theater room. That is the bonus room over the garage. This house is starting to look Ginormous.

Latest Construction Update

All of the interior walls are up and I think they are ready to start putting the trusses up.

Little Rangers

Rowan and Killian with their spiffy white shirts and there Glasgow Rangers ties that we bought in Scotland. Sorry Pattersons, but hopefully nobody around here knows anything about the football club that these ties represent.
